Learn More About Our Missionaries in Cambodia
Clara Biswas:

Clara is our Methodist equivalent of Mother Teresa. She ministers to the poorest of the poor in the slums, garbage dumps, orphanages, and resettlement areas of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Her programs share the love of God by setting up Sunday schools, providing scholarships for school and vocational training, caring for those who are ill, and creating awareness of human trafficking and domestic violence.
Esther Gitobu:

Esther is the Assistant to the UMC Country Director, the person who has responsibility for the UMC in Cambodia. As such, Esther helps with oversight of all activities involving the church in Cambodia. More than that, however, Esther raises funds for Cambodian Methodist Women’s livelihood projects, such as sewing, weaving, and micro-farming. Esther also initiated a fundraising drive for orphan education and currently administers that fund to insure that scholarships are fairly distributed.
Katherine Parker:

Katherine serves with the Community Health and Agricultural Development initiative (CHAD in Cambodia. This is her first year as a missionary. She is currently very involved in health care education and hygiene, specifically testing and teaching about contaminated water. Villagers are unaware of bacterial microbes in well water, ponds, and rice fields. Katherine’s strategy is two fold: empowering churches through self-sustaining groups in the fields of health care and agricultural development, and through building and nurturing Christ-centered leadership.
